Blues Brother your right she is a devoted mother even more so as she is a loan parent and the father of her child has never even met the boy who is seven now. I think the reason she got into it is she was vulnerable and lonely she has sort of isolated herself , has money problems and I think generally depressed which all resulted in being ripe for the picking for them charmed by all the love bombing and promises of paradise. The child is a really good point to make her see sense but first I think I’ll start on what we talked about the other day i.e. the quotes that the J Witnesses are the only one who will find salvation and the birthday issue I think if I can sow doubt over these two issue s she might just get interested. On the same train of thought my child got a vaccination the other week and when she asked me which one she had received, ashamedly I did not know, I got a big lecture from her that it was disgraceful that I had no idea. To finish my first attempt at talking-to her I think I’ll turn the same analogy back on her about finding out the facts before she gets her son into such I high controlled religion. Thanks for all the comments some definite food for thought there

Thanks everyone a lot of really solid advice loved the analogy from humbled. I actually have a head ache today from looking at the computer screen trolling through all available resources I’m a man on a mission. I’m really trying to do this perfectly; I don’t want to mess it up her and my little Nephew s wellbeing are at stake. My mother is also a witness but is not what you would call a diehard she is pretty easy going in fact. A couple of years ago I started finding out all this amazing information on the internet and I read crisis of conscious and was bowled over by what I read , I would never have realised how aspects of the religion are so cruel. By the way my heart goes out to all the people who have lost loved ones over this I am truly sorry that this has happened to you. Any way after finding out this information I tried to relay it to my mother but I rushed in and came on to heavy ,in the end she put the defensives up and now she won’t even listen to me. So that’s why I want to do everything right this time I don’t want to lose. Yes JW FACTS is an amazing resource I particularly found the section on helping someone leave great it settled me down and realised I can’t rush into this one or two bits of information at a time. And if you’re reading this I would just like to say what a brave amazing man you are Paul Grundy you’re a through inspiration of the Fred Franz kind.

Hi there everyone, Looking for some advice on helping my Sister who is studying the bible with a Jehovah’s witnesses to escape. She’s been studying for over a year now and attends meetings occasionally. I have been looking for a way to help her for a while now and the answer fell into my lap last week, during her study last week she mentioned that her son was going to a birthday party. At this the study conductor[S C} tried to make her see the error of her way, at which my sister would have none of it saying she was not prepared to deny a small child [7] a party and where in the bible does it say thou shall not calibrate birthdays. The {S C] could not quote verse of course but said all birthdays in the bible where evil things , blah. By the end of their conversation my Sister said she could see the vein’s coming out in [SC] neck and her face was red with rage saying “obviously you don’t have a proper grasp on the bible”. Thankfully this has really knocked my Sister and she pretty p%*£ed off. I feel this is my opportunity to make her see the light as I think this encounter is a perfect microcosm of the whole witness faith i.e. pure obedience dont ask questions e.t.c . During my conversation with her we got to talking about Armageddon where I informed her that only J witnesses believe they will survive. She did not believe this as she had asked the same question and was told that “who are we to judge that only god can judge which is complete bull as we know. So I think this is a perfect start so I was just looking for any other opinions on going about this further. Let’s do this people help me relice my sister from this snare. Thanks
